The Oriole ball girls are struggling with the foul balls. A lot of Charlie Bootskis out there. Go Tabbies!

Hebrew National Update

After I finish off this HN for breakfast the summer total will reach 19 with over 3 months to finish off 81 more and reach the magical goal of 100.

The walk study still has the team that takes more walks winning 62% of the time. This exhibits a clear edge to the team that is more patient and shows why it is so vital to throw strikes yourself.

Go Tabbies and Red Wings tonight! An awesome night of sports in Detroit especially with JV on the hill. Holla Detroit!

Great job Red Wings! I don't want to discount last season's championship but this season's run has picked up a city which was down on its knees. Go Detroit!!!

Tuesday, May 26, 2009

2 things have occurred in the last 24 hours. The HN count is up to 13 and the win % of the team that takes more walks decreased to 62%. Only 87 more Hebrews!

Monday, May 25, 2009

Yesterday a milestone was achieved in Pitt as I was able to digest my 10th Hebrew National of the summer. This glorious event took place at the FC Golf club.

Holla at 7! The Tabs have dished out the biz 7 straight times. Hopefully AG pounds the strike zone tonight. If he does he will be successful once again.

Wednesday, May 20, 2009

Through 19 games of the walk study, the team which takes more walks in the ballgame wins 63% of the time. So far this is what I expected, walks are important.

Tuesday, May 19, 2009

Also, I will posting my new walk study shortly. The study will determine if the team that draws more walks in a game has more success than the team with fewer.
Big night in the D with the Tabbies and the Wings both playing home games. I will be hollerin at both of the games while tossing some charlies back. Yablos!

Great day for the Tabs and Wings, very impressive victories. I really enjoyed the Tigers Broom Time fun at Comerica. Most importantly the Rod Allens finally won

Sunday, May 17, 2009

There was a little bad news last night though. The Heeb count stood still at 8 for the season as my stomach could not handle any more food. Bad news bears.
What a great trip to Comerica for Big Phil, Millsy, Droste, and myself! The Tabs gave the A's the biz and we got our first up close look at Ricky P.

Wednesday, May 13, 2009

No Heebs were consumed last night at the Bucco's game due to my lack of funds. The Maxima's repairs are really starting to hit home and give me the biz.

Tuesday, May 12, 2009

Just a reminder, defensive efficiency is the rate at which balls put into play are converted into outs by a team's defense. DE=1-((H+ROE-HR)/(PA-BB-SO-HBP-HR))

After watching the Buckeye spring game hightlights it may be time to roll out the Ray Small Touchdown Tour once again. Holla at your travel agent for details.
The Maxima is trying to play me like a 2-bit fiddle. At an oil swap last Thursday and the crazy dude with a Melrose cut told me the engine was about to fall out

Saturday, May 9, 2009

These mistake by the lake announcers are terrible. Wish I had Mario and Rod, since I could be playing the RADG. Go Tabs! Lets light the Chrismas tree.
I apologize for the lack of knees on bows the last couple of days but the ol' Maxima's engine is about to fall out. RADG will make all better tonight though.

Lost count of my charlie total but the Tabbies got a big W and the Wings are tied 0-0 halfway through the first. The Del Taco sign is crazy as hell! Go Detroit
Number 6 down the hatch! Rod is getting crazy today. So far so good for the Tabs, as they are playing the Twinkies like a 2-bit fiddle.
4th charlie down the ol' hatch. RADG is now underway. Go Tabbies!
Butta Lewis has landed! 3 dos equis have been given the business. 45 minutes til RADG gets rollin' in this piece. Todays Bonus rule: home run= knees on bows.
Two Dos nasties down the hatch. Once again it has been a decent start to the cinco de mayo festivities. Building up to the Tabs at 7, followed by the Wings.
Cinco de mayo fun begins in 20 minutes. Fiesta holla!

Monday, May 4, 2009

Too early to be up after the crazy Sunday full of debauchery. JV was fiddlin batters like a wild man and I was able to increase the Hebrew count to 8. Holla!

Sunday, May 3, 2009

By the way, my horse's effort disgusted me yesterday and I will never bet on this circus of an event again. And also I can never trust my magic 8 ball again.
Just waking up this morning. A little slow though, because of all the charlies down the hatch yesterday. Big day for the Tabbies and Wings. Racky Tacky fun!

Saturday, May 2, 2009

I placed a small wager on a horse named Atomic Rain. The magic 8 ball told me to do so. That is all the consultation I need. If I lose the 8 ball will be nixed.
Holla'n from Cornerstone in Aspinwall. No Hebrew Nationals so far; the total is stuck on 6. I'm watching some hockey but really just wasting time til Tabs.

Singles probably won't get the job done

Extra Base Hit Study

0 extra base hits in an inning = 10% of the time at least one run is scored
1 or more extra base hits in an inning = 67% of the time at least one run is scored

Leadoff batter on base Study

Leadoff batter of the inning reaches base = 48% of the time at least one run is scored
First baserunner of the inning is with 1 out = 40% of the time at least one run is scored
First baserunner of the inning is with 2 outs = 18% of the time at least one run is scored

What can we take from these stats? First off, it is extremely important to have guys in the order with extra base power. The difficulty of scoring at least one run without an extra base hit is immense. I think this is why I have noticed more and more teams playing "no doubles" outfield depths early in games. They figure it will take at minimum 3 singles to score one run and sometimes even four. The other thing we learned from the studies is the importance of getting a baserunner with 1 or fewer outs. When the leadoff guy reaches teams are scoring almost 50% of the time. Even with one out the run scoring only drops to 40%. On the flip side, if you're a pitcher it shows the importance of attacking the batters and getting the first 2 outs of the inning as quickly as possible.

Tabbies and Wings games tonight! Unfortunately I may be missing both games because I'm attending the Buccos' game this evening. For those of you who can, holla at Detroit and some crazy rackay tackay! It's time to give the biz in the D!

Keep rowing your boat folks. And when can row no longer, motorboat it!
